    The department of computer science at college of education of pure science held a  scientific symposium entitled “ Multimedia” in the main Hall of the conferences and symposiums on Tuesday, 29/11/2016. The goal of the symposium was to give the definition of the multimedia, their ratings, their development and what are its applications. It has discussed the spread and use of multimedia in the last decade with the development of computer of the powerful memory and low-cost such as the software of sound and the image. This thing has encouraged many educational Institutions and individuals alike to move forward in the production of a diverse and rich programs for multimedia meet consumer desires. This diversity and enrichment helped polarize the educational field to the multimedia in the field of education and its various ways.

In fact multimedia is a set of computer applications can store information in various forms including animation, text, static images and sounds. So the multimedia is a combination of computer and teaching aids to produce interactive hyperlinks environment containing the audio software, image and video. The symposium included a multimedia categories, which are divided into two types, linear and nonlinear. It has clarified the meaning of these two types within the multimedia rankings. As well as touched upon to their properties, as can be used in a physical environment with special effects with multiple users in the internet and with computer local. During the symposium, also discussed the evolution of multimedia as well as their uses. That, it has used in the creative industries, commercial uses, recreation, fine arts, industry, engineering, medicine and journalism fields as well as in the educational process. The symposium recommended that we should stressed the great role played by the multimedia in all different areas of life, including the educational process as one of the faster ways to deliver information in a clear and understandable.
